Welcome
Welcome to IrisLAN

We are a computer gaming community in Melbournes eastern suburbs. We run three day events where players bring their own computers to compete for prizes in multiplayer games.

Our next event will be held at Lilydale Scout Hall on August 25 - 27. If that sounds like your idea of a good time, Book Now!.

Never been LANing before? No problem. Check out how it all works here.

Hope to see you there.

Announcement: Update!

Well, IrisLAN v2.0b proved to be a bit of a letdown in the power department.

We have been talking to the owners of the venue and they are doing their best to upgrade the power to their facility before our next event which, if all goes well, shouldn't be too long a wait.

Everyone seems to have had fun while the power was turned on, even if it was only in short blocks. There were Fear Combat, CS:S, Quake3 and CoD2 servers running and everybody seemed to have a blast.

As much as we hate treating things like a learning experience, that seems to be the way we have to do it.

So stay up to date here, and we'll announce our next event once we've had a bit more input from the venue, or found somewhere else Wink

Stick around, there's much more to come.

IrisLAN v2.0b: Lilydale Scout Hall - Erldunda Ct, Lilydale (Melway: Map 38, C2)
(If you're not familliar with the area check out the Map.)

Date Changed!: 5pm Friday August 25th to 2pm Sunday August 27th
(If you arrive early, you'll have to wait outside until we're finished setting up. It's against OH&S guidelines and voids our PLI if we allow you access before deeming the venue safe, i.e. removed all tripping hazards etc. So please don't show up early and expect to get in.)

Cost: $25

We will be offering prizes to the winners of the following competitions.
Quake 3 - Deathmatch
Call of Duty 2 - 8v8 - Capture the Flag
Counter-Strike: Source - 5v5 - Team Deathmatch
Warcraft 3 - 3v3 - Defence of the Ancients

Book now on the Portal Page!

The most recent update of the system has fixed that stupid problem that made the "Remember Me" function on the login page not work.

As long as you have cookies enabled it will log you in automatically, every time.

Lovely.

Announcement: New Venue!
Posted: FungusMungus @ Jun 21, 2006 1:40 pm
Hello people.

Just a quick update to tell you guys that we have secured a new venue where we should be able to run a lot more regularly. It can't handle quite as many gamers as the last one but still plenty for an awesome weekend.

More news soon, we should be running within the next couple of months.

Cheers guys

It was teh haxorz I tell you!

Okay okay, we let our guard down... and for some reason we forgot to keep ourselves up to date.

So we'd like to thank a few people here:

Number one - Chuck (Tonebob's name for teh haxor) - for reminding us to update our security

Number two - Radass (Dave) - for backing up the server... we owe you man

Number three - our one and only Aday! - for saying OMG and such, then fixing the site.

So yes... we got hacked.

I'd like to remind everyone that the internal network we use while running LANs is a lot more secure and well maintained than the internet and a free forum system. However we are attempting to make your IrisLAN website experience HACKER FREE from now on.

Thankyou, and goodnight
